What we do

Demolition services on the Gold Coast

House Demolition

Full removal of a house and its slab or stumps, with services disconnected, materials sorted and the block left ready for what comes next.

Taking a house down is the easy part to picture and the hard part to organise. Before a machine arrives, someone has to line up the building approval, confirm whether there is asbestos, get power, water and gas disconnected, and work out how trucks will reach the site. Send us the address and what you are planning, and we will pass it to a local demolition contractor who can walk the block and price it properly.

  • Quotes from a contractor who has seen the site
  • Approvals and disconnections mapped out before work starts
  • Materials sorted rather than sent to landfill in one load
About house demolition

Knockdown Rebuild Demolition

Clearing the old home to your builder's specification, on your builder's timeline, so the new slab can go down without delay.

Rebuilding on land you already love is common on the Gold Coast, especially where the location is worth more than the house sitting on it. The demolition stage has to fit between your finance, your builder's start date and your rental lease. We can put you in touch with a local contractor who is used to working to a builder's handover requirements.

  • Booked around your builder's start date
  • Quoted against the builder's handover list
  • Local knowledge of sandy and canal blocks
About knockdown rebuild demolition

Commercial Demolition

Warehouses, shops, offices and small industrial buildings, planned around neighbours, tenants, trading hours and traffic.

Commercial sites bring more paperwork and more people to work around. There may be a busy road out front, adjoining tenants who need to keep trading and a developer waiting on a clear site. Tell us what is coming down and when you need it gone, and we will connect you with a contractor who handles commercial work on the Gold Coast.

  • Work planned around tenants and trading hours
  • Safety documents and method explained up front
  • Material recovery considered in the price
About commercial demolition

Strip Outs

Internal demolition for offices, shops, apartments and tower floors, including make-good work at the end of a lease.

A strip out takes a space back to a shell while the building around it carries on as normal. It is the kind of work the Gold Coast's towers, shopping centres and commercial strips need all the time, and it rewards a tidy, well-organised crew. Tell us about the space and we will pass it on to a local contractor.

  • Suited to occupied towers and centres
  • Lift bookings and building rules factored in
  • Priced against your actual make-good clause
About strip outs

Asbestos Removal

Licensed removal of fibro sheeting, eaves, vinyl and other asbestos materials, on its own or ahead of a demolition.

Fibro was used in many Queensland buildings before 1990, and plenty of Gold Coast homes from that era are still standing. If yours is being renovated or demolished, the asbestos has to be identified and dealt with first. Tell us what you have found and we will refer you to a contractor with the right Queensland licence for the work.

  • Referred to contractors holding the right class of licence
  • Works as a standalone job or ahead of demolition
  • Disposal paperwork to keep with your records
About asbestos removal

Pool and Concrete Removal

Old pools broken out and backfilled, plus slabs, driveways, sheds and retaining walls cleared from the block.

Not every demolition job involves a whole house. Tired pools, cracked driveways, old sheds and failing retaining walls all need the same machines, the same access planning and the same tipper trucks. Send through a few photos and we will pass your job on to a local contractor.

  • Small machines for tight side access
  • Backfilled to suit what is planned next
  • Concrete recycled where possible

  1. Tell us about it

Call, or send the quick form above. A few photos and the suburb are usually enough for a first answer.

We look at the job, then put the scope, the price and the timing on paper before anything starts.

  3. We do the work

On the day we said, with the site left clean and the finished job walked through with you.

GC Demolition at work on the Gold Coast

About us

Local to the Gold Coast

GC Demolition is a referral service for Gold Coast home owners, builders and property managers who need something taken down. We are not a demolition company ourselves. When you send an enquiry, we pass your details to an independent contractor working in your part of the coast, and they contact you to inspect the site and give their own quote. From canal-front knockdowns at Runaway Bay to tower strip outs in Surfers Paradise and old fibro shacks at Palm Beach, our job is to get you talking to someone who knows this kind of work. Any agreement you make is directly with the contractor, so check their licence and insurance before you sign.

Questions

Asked before you book

Ask us: +61 468 090 430
How much does demolition cost on the Gold Coast?

It depends on the size and construction of the building, asbestos, access, slabs, disposal and approvals. Because those vary so much, the only reliable number comes from a contractor who has seen the site. Our cost guide explains what moves the price.

Do I need approval to demolish a house on the Gold Coast?

Demolishing a building generally needs a building approval, usually through a private certifier. Your contractor or builder can normally help arrange it, and your certifier can tell you if any overlays affect your property.

What if my house has asbestos?

It has to be removed by appropriately licensed people before the main demolition. Homes built before 1990 should be checked first. We can refer you to a contractor who handles asbestos.

Which parts of the Gold Coast do you cover?

From Ormeau and Coomera in the north down to Coolangatta in the south, and west into the hinterland. Send your address and we will find someone working in your area.

Are you the company doing the demolition?

No. GC Demolition is a referral service. We pass your enquiry to an independent local contractor, who quotes and carries out the work under their own licence and insurance.

How soon can a contractor start?

Site visits can often be arranged fairly quickly. The start date depends on approvals, asbestos work, disconnections and the contractor's schedule, so contact us as soon as you have a rough date in mind.
